Finally an Update!!!
Ok so I have not had an update in 5 month. We have been busy. Caelyn started Kindergarten and Cayson started 2 day preschool. Caelyn really likes school. She has started reading and taking weekly spelling tests. She is even testing on capitalization, sight words, general spelling words, and punctuation. She is doing really well and has been getting perfect scores. She is reading words everywhere. We are so proud of her. Caelyn started Girl Scouts. It has been fun doing all the activities. Cayson enjoys school too. He is always singing songs, singing part of the alphabet, and counting. He loves dinosaurs, cars, trains and transformers, and breaking things. Typical boy. Cayson is also working on potty training. He is doing pretty good. He is dry most of the time with only an occasional accident. Cayson is very injury prone. He has a black eye every other week. Cayson started baseball. Soccer was not his thing. He is REALLY good for his age and having no prior classes. Cayson loves throwing and hitting. If we could just get him to run the bases. We went to Disney World again and had a good time with Chelsa. We went to New Jersey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. As much as I did not like all the snow we got last year, winter has been a bust this year. We have hardly had any snow. No snow men and no snow days.
Tech Day
I think we have some future engineers on our hands. Caelyn and Cayson built gumdrop and toothpick bridges. They also made slime out of glue and made a water tornado. Caelyn was fascinated with the ice cream made of liquid nitrogen.
Ice Skating
Cayson went ice skating for the first time. He did a really good job. Maybe hockey will be our next sport to try. Caelyn is getting better and better each time. She need a little help at first, but soon she was out there skating with her friends.
Little Slugger Cayson
Cayson started baseball this year. Soccer does not seem to be his thing right now. Cayson is more interested in throwing and hitting, at least that is what he does at home. So we thought we would give baseball a try. Cayson is actually really good!! His coaches are really impressed with his skill level for his age and never participating in baseball in the past. Most of the time he hits the ball and not the tee. His throwing is really good for his age too!! We will post video soon.
Caelyn's Choir Concert
Caelyn at her concert with her good friend Azirah. Hopefully we can get some video to follow. Singing little kids are always hilarious.
The Polar Express
It was so cool to ride the Polar Express to the North Pole and meet Santa and some of his elves. We all had so much fun together. Caelyn and Cayson were singing and dancing on the train. Cayson was flirting with the girl elves. It was just like the book!!
Happy 5th Birthday Caelyn
Caelyn got to have a costume bowling party with her friends from school. It was a lot of fun. Both Caelyn and Cayson are pretty good bowlers. Granny Dee and Papa were even here for the party. Happy Birthday, Caelyn!!!!
Girl Scouts
In addition to dance, gymnastics, and soccer, Caelyn started Girl Scouts this year. She is loving it. It has been a good way for her to meet girls her age and do some really cool activities. She has participated in many activities including a food drive, a food pantry tour, Engineering and Technology day, and Brush Up/Dental Awareness Day. Caelyn has learned the Girl Scout oath. Caelyn went to a cookie kickoff to learn all about selling cookies. Caelyn also went to a Teddy Bear Tea and Christmas caroling. She is working on earning a lot of patches. We are so proud of her.
Disney Trip
Once again we went to Disney World. This time Chelsa came with us. We all had a good time. Unfortunately, it rained quite a bit, but we still got to do some things and spend some time with each other. Cayson was in heaven when he got to build a dinosaur at Build-A-Dino and he called him T-Rex. Caelyn loved the character breakfast with June and Leo from Little Einsteins, Hanny Manny, and Special Agent Oso and of course seeing the princesses. She also loved hanging out with Bella.
First Day of School
Caelyn's first Day of Kindergarten and Cayson's first day of preschool. Of course, Cayson had to explore and check it to make sure it was alright for him to stay.
